Transmission Brake IVA OK?

Some of you may know Land Rovers handbrakes are at the back of the gearbox with one drum acting on the propshaft pre diff.

X-eng do a cracking X-brake disc conversion and I was wondering if these are IVA OK?

What I've thinking of is on some midi's there is a big cog for the electric reverse and was wondering if a x-eng caliper on the cog would act as a handbrake.

Or is there a requirement for one on each wheel?

My interpretation of the rules is that you need brakes to at evenly on both wheels of the axle. Unless you had a locked diff you would notget even braking if one wheel slipped i.e. On ice or a grid, the non grid wheel would offer no resistance.
