Nope, it is a point where an old bridge meets the road...
I only drove 15MPH entering a T crossing...
Imagine what would happened if I drove 45 mph....

damage
Hi
Sorry to see this
hope you can get it back on the road soon.
A suggestion , fit a pair of steel skids under the sump & box.
We did this on our Indy R1 & it works a treat,(experience) no need for any welding
all bolt on, may add a little weight but definitely worth it, you'l only loose about 8mm in height.
Good luck
René

We are looking to get a bit more hight by mounting the engine slightly higher and mounting skids underneath.
Fact remains the road clearance of a Duratec and a MT75 solution is c**p.

That is bad. Sorry to hear of your troubles. Just out of curiosity, where exactly did it happen and I trust that you are going to try and get
compensation from the relavant authority.
Beware of the Goldfish in the tulip mines. The ONLY defence against them is smoking peanut butter sandwiches.

Filed a claim with the local authorities.
It was on a sunny saturday afternoon and no witness were present.
However the damage was pretty bad and I needed a special tow-truck
to remove the car from the location, which might help the claim.

It doesn't actually look that high on the photo, although it does cast a bit of a shadow and there isn't much evidence in the photo to
show scale - how much ground clearance did you have with your car?

All the utilities face fairly steep fines from the LAs if their reinstatement after roadworks is outside +/- 10mm of the original road height IIRC.
They are ruthless is getting these fines in so a bit of 'loyering up' might be in order to reverse the cards...
Made a real mess - hope the damage list stays as it is.
Beautiful build by the way - trying to persuade my made to bin the zetec in his Westy and go Duratec.

That's the problem, I have a clearance of approx 8cm.
The bridge however is curved and the highest point is the place where the
steel rim is protruding for about 3 cm. Between the 1st and the 2nd steel rim
there is a hole which is about 5 cm deep.
You don't notice the bend in the bridge when you are driving. If you look from the side
of the road, you see the bend better.
First letter is send, and I am waiting for a response.
At present no car, I feel kind of lost without it......
I do have an other fast car but it is not the same......

Got a phone that all bits and pieces were in.
The MT75 was preped last week and the new driveshaft could also be collected.
Perhaps,,,, I might be able to drive this year after all!!!
PS:
Decided to go for a front windshield.
