Engine to rear axle

Hi people
I have recently just started to build my car
I have a escort rear axle fitted and a pinto with a type 9 box . The axle was already fitted to the chassis and the box and engine was not
Is there a distance between the axle and box for a prop at all .
And what sort of prop etc
Thanks for any help with this
Daz

Measure the distance between gearbox shaft and diff flange and contact a specialist firm, there was a thread up about this recently recommending some helpful advice on companies.

Or

Get a Capri prop cut and weld it yourself if you feel comfortable doing that then get it checked and balance!

As above, first thing is get the engine and box as far back as you can within the frame, do not worry about the prop length.

Plenty of warnings on here about doing your own prop, how good are your welding skills ? unless you are competent best to leave to an expert, they will just want distances between flanges then will relieve you of between £150 -£250 to make one.

I did my own BTW

Try contacting Nurburg2006 a member on the forum, he said he found a firm that will make one for £120+VAT, still not bad!
