Piston Caliper Wind In Tool
Had to get a replacement sierra rear caliper but the piston in it is different to what I've had in the past. I have the small cube type
tool.
like this

Up till now my pistons have always had 4x cutouts and this cube has always done the job but this new piston has 2 cutouts much further apart and the
cube is too small.

Can anyone point me toward what tool I need to wind this piston back, I've tried with levering screwdrivers and allen keys etc but it's
pretty solid and needs something meant for the job.
Cheers

I did mine the other day, I used a g clamp and a pair of grips. Every quarter of a turn of the grips tighten the g clamp up and repeat. Works a
treat.

I'll give that a try thanks. It's new and does fit over the discs and pads but is just causing the pads to stick and drag slightly so
needs a slight turn back.

The vital bit is to let the handbrake adjustment off fully before winding back.
The cube tool and firm hand pressure is all that should be required.

A set of needle nose pliers will do it if your careful and it isnt too stiff.
Machine mart have started to do a cheaper big size tool that may fit, but only has 2 different sets of pins in.

I just bought this cheap tool from Ebay, figured it would come in handy
UNIVERSAL NEW BRAKE CALIPER PISTON REWIND WIND BACK TOOL KIT 22 34 PIECES SET | eBay
Adult Size
Just hope there's one in here that will fit, piston is 40mm in diameter and the 2 cutout notches are at the very outside.
For a brief moment I did contemplate drilling a couple of holes in the piston face so the cube type tool I already have would fit but I thought better
of it.
