Diffs, Diffs, Diffs.
Hi all could someone advise me how too measure a diff for its size ie 7" or 7.5"

Top mounting bolts are different. 7" is slotted so you can see the bolt in the middle and 7.5" isn't. Also the distance across the
bolt is 7" and 7.5" I believe (although I've never measured one)

^^ spot on
slotted top mount with 1 long through bolt = 7"
solid top mount with 2 tapped holes/short bolts = 7.5"
the 7" or 7.5" size is actually the size of the crown wheel inside the diff rather than the width of the mounts on the case
the 7.5" is bigger across the top mount, but not exactly 7.5" wide...

Were the 7.5 " difs only used in the Granada/ Scorpios ?

no both types were used in Granada's and Sierra's (depending on what was in the parts bin that day...)
my Granada donor and my spare Granada both had 7" diffs
I think the later scorpio's were all 7.5" (the ugly 95-98 ones)
