Turn the power down on a plasma cutter, fabulous for removing bearings,Oxyacetylene next best, otherwise use a cutting disc on an angle grinder.

Boil a kettle, make a cup of tea, then pour the rest of the boiling water on the bearing, before smacking it with the hammer again. Hopefully the hot
water will expand it slightly. Works for ball joints, might work here too

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

To remove mr angry, as you get close to the shaft the metal will overheat quickly under the disc so you can see when to stop, you should only need to
get 'one flat' and the whole thing will slide off easily.

First thing is you need to split the retaining ring with a chisel or as others have said a quick bead of weld, as the heat will expand it.
Then wrap the bearing in a clothe and whack it with a hammer and the outer casing will break and and the beraings will fall out exposing the inner
bearing race. Run a bead of weld on that bit and it will come off.
