T9 with 3.62 Speeds
Hi,
Having a conversation with a friend of mine about his MK and top speeds, he doesn't want to go to a track day where he will be on the limiter
down every straight.
He has a 2.0 blacktop running 153bhp, with a 2.0L type 9 Gearbox and a 3.62 diff.
He claims his car will not go over 100mph, which i cant work out as doing the maths it should be geared to 136mph.
Taking in to account aerodynamics have having about 300bph/tonne, he must be looking at 125-130 surely?
Looking for personal experience on this matter.

I have been telling him this.
He's either got gokart wheels on it or is scared of what his right foot can do.
Thanks for the input though, it's pretty obvious something isn't right.

My T9 with a 3.62 diff = 140mph in 4th gear @ 7200rpm. 4th gear is straight through at 1:1 as most gearboxes are. That was a St170 engine with 178bhp
and good torque.
That's what mine did on the RR with no forward resistance as you find out on the road.
Thats because top speed is affected by euro dynamics. I managed 128mph before it ran out of puff on the road!
