Bringing steering wheel closer...
I'm struggling to work out the best way to bring my steering wheel to where I want it.
I'm getting to the point where I'd want the frame which holds the column mounted off the upright where the chassis starts to taper in, a
good couple of inches closer to the back of the car than seems normal.
First problem is that there isn't enough column is sticking out of the bulkhead at the other end,
I'm not sure whether I'd have dash clearance problems further down the line.
is there an easy solution that I've missed here? do I just fit a dished wheel post iva? are spacers available to fit after market boss
mountings?

You can get spacers, for say the sparco/omp bolt pattern wheels, think rally design and demon tweeks have a good range

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

We put a removable hub for the steering wheel which bought the wheel close as well so killed two birds with one stone as the system I go has a locking
plate to disable the colom when the wheel is off for security

I used one of these between my Momo boss kit and wheel and it works fine

Cheap as chips and you can get them in 35mm as well. Comes from China but there's nothing much to go wrong with them, the aluminium is strong
enough and the bolt holes are well cut and threaded.

Call CBS, I seem to remember they do bespoke steering links. They could make a length you need with uj's on each end

I have installed a collapsible steering wheel boss between the quick release and steering wheel. If you don't have one of these, you could do
the same to bring the wheel closer by a couple of inches.
