My first shot at AutoCAD
I have spent about an hour making these AutoCAD drawings of the uprights based on the IRS system we are using, which is loosly based on the ST rear
end.
What do you think?

There are 2 layers on both of the, Measurements (light blue) and the upright (white), so I am working out how to use it slowly.

Not bad for a first attempt.
You can turn of the grid by clicking on GRID on the bottom of the screen.
Dimension styles can be changed in Format.
You can make the outline as one line by typing pedit and use the join option.
Try using the arc for free hand drawing of circle parts, just go to Draw and click arc.

You have two toolbars on the left side of the screen. The top 3 icons of the right side bar can be used to put measures on the drawing. No need to make
your own arrows-lines.

I said it was my first shot, I don't know how to export, although I expect I'll work it out.

I've just started a ten week evening CAD course at my local college. I have a package at work which allows you to export CAD drawings as
PDF's. I'll dig it out next week and try to post a link up.

Just hit the Print Screen button on your keyboard and then paste it into your image program (I use IrfanView), and then you can save it as a .jpg,
.bmp, gif etc.
The pay isn't very good , but the work's hard.
