diff ratio help
hi I bought a mnr vortx today with a Yamaha r1 in (2003 engine, fuel injected) only drove it home down the m6 and 2 mile on a roads and it does not
seem as quick as my old indy blade (ran a 3.62 diff) and my indy zx9r (3.9 I think) the mnr I bought today as a 3.38 is this why?
thanks jim

Probably.
I guess the ZX9R felt a bit frenetic due to the short ratio!

It's all about the diff
With a 3.4 (ish) you'll get more top end
A swap to 3.6 is not difficult
I eat to survive
I drink to forget
I breath to pi55 my ex wife off (and now my ex partner)

Yeh, it seemed a bit more aggressive. What's the 3.38 diff like then? It seemed better than others on the m6 today

A 3.38 is a 7" non lsd normally push in shafts , someone may have made it into a lsd , u will have to check. Easy enough to swap for a 3.62

You could sell the 3.38 and buy two 3.62's with the money.
Personally I would keep the 3.38 and splash out on a rolling road session to get the best out of the engine.

it still early days as I only bought it yesterday and it was raining so not really took it for a good blast out yet. the car does have a power
commander the guy said it does need setting up, so might go get it tuned but for future reference can you get a 3.62 diff with push in shafts (I think
that's no lsd and bolt ons are lsd is that right?)
cheers

3.62 with push in shafts seem to be very common. When I got mine a couple of months ago I had a choice.
