Metro MG Front uprights

Has anybody used the front uprights from a MG Metro, they are all ventilated discs, 4 pot calipher and a very simple upright with taper ball joint at the bottom and taper at the top.

To go even further has anyone used the complete front suspension setup in the rear of a kit car, ie antiroll bar, uprights drive shafts lower and top wishbones etc.

Any input would be kindly accepted.

I had a C reg metro turbo once - the front setup is the same as metros had as std a few years later.

BEWARE that you cant use a lower balljoint from a metro. A metro takes the load on the TOP joint. A Locost takes the load on the BOttom JOINT AND WISHBONE. The Metro one wont be used to a 'pulling' load and may pop.

You can use the front as the rear - however you will have a problem with hand brake - there wont be one - and also the steerable hubs will need tethering which is likley to give you a degree of bump steer at the rear.

Its relatively easy to hack the suspension bits - hub assby - from a sierra or granada. See my pics in the pic section for what a hacked off remounted hub is like on my unconventional rear suspension.
