diff ratio???
well lads hows it going. another question for us. wat diff ratio would be the best for a zetec engine. i have a 3.9 escort axle and crazy jay has a
3.7 ithink. wat would be the best alround ratio of them two???

The best ratio diff is a matter of choice which depends on what you want to achieve.
The diff is part of the equation. The other parts are the gearbox ratios and the overall wheel size with tyre.
Assuming you are changing nothing else then the general rule is that the 3.9 will give faster acceleration and the 3.7 higher top speed.
However this will be only slightly noticeable as the two ratios are close together.
A change say to a 3.54 will be noticeable and would provide a higher top speed and cruising speed with lower revs.
Personally, I would have the 3.7 as an overall choice BUT I don't know your other factors.
There's a gear ratio/final drive calculator on my site in the gearboxes section. If you play around and change the figures you can get some idea
of what happens.
