hi im picking up my stm r1 on thurs and its just dawned on me i have a spare td04 turbo from my old impreza how easy are they to fit and get working
correctly? is it a good bike engined turbo too though? i am talking long term though as in closed winter

Yes it will be ok from what I learnt recently, Though the flange is a pretty odd shape! get the equivalent Volvo one and its a standard squareish
flange.
I bought a TD04HL 13T for my cbr900, which I believe is the same as the subaru one, or very similar at least.
Not as simple as you may think for fitting and setting it all up though from what I gather, but I decided to go ahead with it. albeit with a
supercharger now instead of turbo

I am fitting one on a zetec.
There is a guy on ebay that does some nice thick and very cheap flanges for making a custom manifold.

TD04-16T is the one people usually get. I run a 13T on a zx9 and works great, might benefit from a 16T with more flow though.
Most of the impretza ones are 13T size but they only have TD04 marked on them
