Which Type 9?
Looking at the Haynes manual different ages and models of fords require different amounts of oil in the gearbox. I bought my type 9 with no donor
attached, how do I know how much oil to put in...?

Simple (when you know how...) Just fill ti up until it dribbles out of the filler plug
HTH Stu.
Dont just build it.....make it!

Dont worry about that bit, I didn't.
Of if you are really concerend about getting it exact, make your self a little dipstick.
This will be assuming that the gearbox is in EXACTLY the same orientation the the donor vehicle of course...

i made a dipstick from some of the thick red wire from the sierra loom, but even then stuck a bit extra oil in for good measure.
i can't get to the g/box filler plug in the indy, so filled the box from the top. pulled some real shitty oil out first, akin to black
treacle.

Right-angle ended Allen keys make good dip-sticks. If you select the right one then you get the level right.
Enjoy.
