Powder-coating alloy wheels

Hi

I have some old Laser alloys that have been paint stripped and bead-blasted ready for refinishing. Could anyone please give me an idea of how much it would be to have them powder-coated so that I have a comparison for quotes I get from local powder-coaters?

might be difficult as most companies do the blasting as part of the price

It varies from place to place and obviously on wheel size and finish.

Ive got a set of 15s to get done. In the glasgow area Ive been quoted anywhere from 120 to 240 quid.

I had a set of 14" rims blasted and coated for £40 each - good job and nice people.

Had a set of 16's done for my Defender, and paid £45+VAT per rim to be blasted and coated satin black; wheels had to be delivered bare. Friends had his done the other week, but paid £60 (inc. VAT) per rim to have the tyres removed, wheels blasted and coated standard silver, then tyres re-fitted with new valves and then balanced.

As yours are already blasted, you may get away with a price of about £25-30 per rim, but I suspect most will want to see the standard of cleanliness before they do any work or put their name to it.

Thanks for all the replies, it seems the price varies quite a lot, so it will probably be worthwhile getting a quote from all the local coaters.

City powder coaters in brum charge £20 per wheel, blast, acid dip and powder coat.

Have heard of places that charge £1 per inch size of wheel.

Thanks for the info, that's a good price, and it looks like it certainly pays to phone around.
