Capri axle
Good day fellow enthusiasts ! originally I set out to run a Cortina Mk1 rear axle, but now we have the arches etc in place it is woefully narrow...as
the axle had been rebuilt the drums and backplates are all refurbed..my question is will the Cortina brakes bolt up to a Mk1 Capri axle????

Yes but check the axle width ISTR the Mk1 Capri axle was exactly the same as the MK2 Cortina axle except for a couple of extra brackets.
The later Capris used wider axles.

Its 50" wide as opposed to the Mk2/3 which I assume are 52"

I fitted a Mk 3 Capri axle; it measures 52" between the drum backplates. And I fitted the wider rear wings.

The question still remains though....do Cortina brakes bolt to a M1 Capri axle?
