mk3 escort steering rack
does anyone know if a mk3 escort steering rack is the same fittings and length as the mk1/2 escort rack ??. many thanks. Ron.

It would steer back to front as the steering arms are behind the axle and not in front like the mk1+2.

Now that would be entertaining! I remember a story from way back about rallying works Minis. One was converted back to front as a joke and they let
one of the drivers loose in it without telling him. I think he lived to tell the tale.

A flipped left hand drive mk3 rack would turn the correct way. Not sure on size and suitability though.

MK3 Escort was FWD not RWD so as above the rack will be the other way around from MK1&2 Escorts.

Thorpe Park used to have push bikes that steered left when you turned the bars right. Hard to get to grips with, but easy once sussed.
