Front brakes (Brembo)
Hi,
I did some development work ages ago with a 15" wheel, since then I've gone to 16" wheels so have revised the brakes, these discs
fit much better with the caliper and mounting will be very easy.
Budget big brake kit that works with cortina hubs/uprights:

Caprisport do a very similar setup for the capri (similar upright) using the Fiat Coupe Turbo brembo's, think Alfa and Porsche use the same
calipers as well.

Hey,
I contacted Capri sport years ago and wouldn't tell me the origin of the discs they used.
Basically my set up uses a 305mm Peugeot 406 V6 disc, initially I was using the smaller 282.5mm one when intending to use 15s. I am using the Fiat
coupe standard Brembos. Not rebuilt them yet but I think the pistons are about 40mm, they use two different sizes I think. There in good condition and
came with my donor car.
The discs are from Mtec and I asked them to machine the centre bore to 68mm so all I now have to do is redrill the disc, easy job, disc is a nice snug
fit on the hub.
Looked at the web link, £460 isn't bad for their kit and the bigger 315mm disc would have been nice, but my kit cost me about £105 in total, I
can make some steel brackets out of some plate pretty easy. Plus I got the black coated discs and they are grooved.

Just a little update, going to go two piece, 330mm disc and escort cosworth bells.

If, the brakes and disks that are pictured above, are for the car in the "work shop build" thread, then you are way way over braked,
You would need to put your foot on the brake peddle, as though trying not to break an egg, and your front brakes will still lock up
Just from experience, large disks, and multi pot calipers, do not work well on a car weighing not a lot

Yes they may well be, but they look cool!
350bhp I think I'll need some decent brakes, running a 283mm disc and 2 pot on the rear.

Interesting conversation
So; 350bhp means you'll need heavy discs as the horsepower will create a lot of Kinetic Energy which will make the discs very hot when you try
to stop or slow the car. To cool the now hot discs you need lots of surface area to improve the cooling rate so vented make sense...
But; the very lightweight (I'm assuming less than 700 kg without anyone in it) nature of a Seven will make the pedal very light with such large
diameter discs and multi-piston calipers.
I'd try and find some Calipers with smaller pistons or thicker but smaller diameter discs.
But it's your car and you could manage without doing any of that

I haven't got the disc yet, hence the mock up, but I think the two piece disc will be the equivalent weight of the single cast unit.
The plan is to machine the cortina hubs to allow the bells to fit over the hub mounting face and I'll turn off the original disc mountings.
These Brembos have two different piston sizes, and as I remember in the coupe weren't all that good, full rebuild and decent discs I think it
will work well, going to run an OBP pedal box and will adjust the bias, will experiment from there.

I 3D printed an accurate 330mm rotor to fit my Escort Cosworth bells, will mock up the bracket adaptors I need too before I complete the front end
running gear.
Useful tool for mocking up parts to check clearances and that, hubs still need som machining but the work shop is getting there, once wired and
painted I should be able to get back to the locost in the new year.
