Split rim wheels, need to add 1" to the rear lip
I have a set of Alessio 18" split rims, which I want to widen by 1/2" - 1" on the rear lip, the problem is they stopped making these
20 years ago so getting a new lip is not going to happen.

So would it be possible to make a spacer to add the extra width, and if so where would I get the material, cast a ring and machine?
Car currently has 245/40/18 tyres and I want to increase the rear to ideally 255/35/18 or 265/35/18
Thoughts?

I suspect it will be cheaper and easier to sell the ones that dont fit and replace with a current set that's spec'd exactly as you want.
Is there not similar style available still in production?
Also whats the current width? as a 9" suits a max of 265 profile.

Current width is 8"
I like these wheels, they are a rare early fit on DB7's so want to keep them if possible.
Plenty of jaguar options out there should I go another way, I am trying to reduce oversteer on the limit and improve 1/4 mile times, r888r's are
looking favourite to help me along as well

I bought a set of 13 rims from a sidecar racer and one of them presumably the sidecar had a nylon spacer to widen the rim. The chap swore blind it
held air but I have my doubts.
Easy enough to machine on a lathe using a faceplate from 1lnch plate and silicone or polysulphide the assembly

Long shot but can you get someone that does banded steels to widen them. If they are ally then this may be more difficult.

Image in tipton will make you new inner rims, tell them inner bore diameter, no of bolt holes (30-40 etc) and bolt hole pcd.

That sounds good, as far as I know these are spun, they were phenomally expensive as an option, they fragile anyway and very thin
