Trye size conversion charts?
I've searched and failed, does anyone have a link to a true size conversion chart?
What's the nearest equivalent to 210/550/13 for example?

If you convert the width and diameter sizes to inches you get approx. 8.25"(210) x 21.6"(550)
Using this chart:
https://tiresize.com/chart/
Closest I can see is 215/55R13

Stop putting 2&2 together, you will end up with 4.
Best place to purchase? If I'm going to do it may as well have decent boots 😀

This is also very useful for seeing the difference between two size choices. Although it is aimed more at road tyres than slicks....

Keep an eye on uphillracers Jon.get some used crossplies off an early Jedi or similar as they had 6"front and 8" rear rims.
The later ones like mine have 7" front and 10" rear rims I think.
If you want new then BMTR are probably the best bet but they will be £900! And they'll last around 90 secs before starting to go off

Holy cow! I saw some over on wscc for sale second hand a while back, where he'd paid £1100 for a set new.

Wide radials are.
I think 195-530-13 front 250-570-13 rear are around £1k
Cross plies in jedi sizes around £900

I have a pair of 210/550 13 A15 Slicks in the garage, new Sept last year and have done 4 events. If they don't go on the front with the new
wheels then they will be for sale, Cost me £550 the pair.

Just out of interest, how many events do you get out of a set of sprint slicks before they (significantly) lose performance?

I've used 3 season old ones until last year.

The top guys change tyres very frequently. Most have a new set at the start of the year and turn the previous years into Wets. But, with a light
car, you can run them for several years if you look after them.

They do seem to have a bit of additional bite for the first event or two, but after that they level off. Age makes more difference than number of
events or wear past that point. Had a new set at the beginning of the season, 14 events of double driving later and they still managed a 128sec run of
the 2 lap Blyton course. They still have a bit of life left in them, although they have very little tread depth left. I've actually found that
more worn A15s still give the same cold temp performance but don't go off as quickly due to the reduced tread movement.
I've also run 2-3 season old ones that have done 3-4 events and they were noticeably worse despite being stored in the ideal fashion.
EDIT: Thats first hand experience having had 4 brand new sets and a couple of spare used pairs all in the same size / compound across 2 different
cars.
