Brake master cylinder diameter check
Please can someone in the know give me an idea as to the "best" tandem or dual outlet brake master cyclinder diameter.
Setup- basically a Sierra xr4x4 brake set - front 260mm vented single pot 60mm iirc, rear 253mm vented single pot 43mm iirc plus inertia valve.
Connected up currently as front/rear split.
Road use with ford anglia approx 800kg.
Looking at the tilton 74 series master cylinder but not sure what diameter to go for.
All help gratefully received.

I guess you have no intention of using a servo

Correct, as I am running the Puma 1.7 the exhaust is on the steering/brake master cylinder side so have no room unless I go remote which I do not
necessarily want to do. So, non-servo, preferably tandem to separate out front and rear.
For info I currently have an MX6 cylinder (looks like it has been butchered from a servo system) that I have tried to get bled today but without joy
and this is a 15/16" which I think may be a little large. Another alternative is the escort Mk2 base model one (they did a non servo version)
which may be good as I have an escort Mk2 pedal box, this is 3/4"/19mm I think, not sure if this is too small and will give too much travel.
(anyone got one lying around ?)
Any alternative flat mounted, non servo tandem master cylinders I should look at ?

could you change the ratio on the pedal? ie move the push rod closer to or away from or the pivot?

Pedal box is stock escort mk2 but looks like I may have a problem with the master cylinder so need to change that so just trying to get an good setup
thus time round.
Suzuki sj410 one looks interesting, 19mm bore and very similar to the escort, got a couple of emails out for mounting dimensions, can buy these new
for half the cost of an escort one. If the mounting are not exactly right may be able to sort out with an adaptor plate.
