Sierra ignition barrel
Hi Guys,
I dont have a key with my sierra steering column, is there a way of removing the barrel so that I can install a new one

Yes... but you need the key to do it!

You might be able to achieve the same thing by hammering a big screwdriver in and turning it to position 1 - but I don't know what else would
get trashed in the process.

arent the seirra barrels just clamped to the column and wiring three wires or four
i got a new ignition barrel from CBS and mounted it to dashboard

Theres a little pin you need to drill out then you can release the lock barrel from the holder .

Forgive me but I seem to remember being told that if i screwed in the threaded end of a slide hammer then slid the weight back I only needed a
screwdriver to start and drive the car - or maybe that was several years ago

You may find any Ford key of the type Sierras used might allow you to remove the barrel ?
