what size tyres?
What size of tyres bests suits commonly available sierra diff ratios. (3.14s are hard to find it seems).
I have been looking at tyres and 195 50 R15 are a lot cheaper than 195 60 or 205 60. (£35 vs £55 - £65) Given that a speedo can be calibrated to
suit, are small tyres likely to be a problem in terms of gear ratios etc.

What engine/gearbox are you using?

2.0i Zetec propably. It depends on cost. I might end up with a 2.0i Pinto. I'd rather a ha duratec but that will probably cost a lot more
than a zetec.
My first idea was to go for a 3.14 diff and quite large tyres in order to get 62+ MPH in second. 3.14s are rare and so top speed in 2nd is likely to
be less than 60. In that cast it may as well be closer to 50 to get better acceleration in gear. 195/50/15s will do this. I was worrying about loss
of traction with low gearing.
what tyre / enging compinations are popular. some of you must have tyres and sierra diffs.

i wouldn't go any bigger than 195 myself, unless when on the road you really find you're struggling for grip. wider tyres will let go and
aquaplane easier, regardless of weather. A taller side wall will also be more forgiving aswell.
