Spring supplier
I am looking for a replacement spring supplier for motorcycle type rear shocks, the spring size is 2.1"OD (54mm) 1.5" ID (39mm).
What I want is someone supplying that size (or close to) in 8" to 10" length with various spring ratings 150 to 200 lbs/in - I simply
can't find anyone listing this sort of thing, not in the UK & certainly not at any sort of reasonable money, plenty of people offering
springs for 1.9" ID, but nothing smaller
Any suggestions?
I no longer run Furore Products or Furore Cars Ltd, but would still highly recommend them for Acewell dashes, projector headlights, dominator
headlights, indicators, mirrors etc, best prices in the UK! Take a look at http://www.furoreproducts.co.uk/ or find more parts on Ebay, user names
furoreltd & furoreproducts, discounts available for LCB users.
Don't forget Stainless Steel Braided brake hoses, made to your exact requirements in any of around 16 colours.

Failing that if you have the complete shock itself does it have a make/model on it?
That's often a way back to the manufacturer who themselves may be able to help you with different length and rate springs.

Have you tried Faulkners Russ? They've made us some one-offs in the past.

Already had a look at their site, smallest they go is 1.9" ID, they do offer a bespoke service, but if it means going bespoke would probably be
cheaper to simply use 1.9" adjustables from someone like Protech in the first place. This is for an ongoing project where I may need quite a no.
of these so really looking for an "off the shelf" item if poss.

They are Armstrong shocks, but what I'm looking for is a substantially stiffer spring, Armstrong don'rt appear to offer anything
themselves & as said above I am trying to avoid a "one off" situation, unless they could be competitively priced. Unfortunately
"one off" & competitive price don't usually go together
It may be that I need to simply find an alternative bike shock with stiffer springs in the first place

Noted - worth looking for a shock from a heavier bike or perhpas one designed for heavier loads like a touring bike?
