Rd alloys and Laser alloys
So my understanding of these two alloys is as follows
RS alloys have a thick webbing around the bolt holes and are secured with flat washered nuts.
Laser alloys have thinner webbing around bolt holds and are secured with conical nuts.
Now my car has M12 studs and both types of alloy has a bolt hole of 3/4" ,so the fit here is a tad baggy.
Now I can get flat washered nuts with a 20mm long 3/4" spacer but not the conical one.
Now it's seems strange that the laser alloy (conical) has a small conical face area, more like a chamfer.
The RSalloy (flat washered) has a large conical face.
So maybe my understanding is back to front.
In engineering terms the escort read axle has no length to the hub centre and with a 5 mm spacer on the front hub
The support in the middle is iffy.
In both cases would a 10mm concentric hub spacer be the answer.
Now for the come clean,I have three rs and one laser which came on the car.
It's in build progress, purchased as unfinished project.
Await your replies with interest.

You have it the wrong way round.
RS alloys have the thinner webbing and use the flat washers.
Capri Laser alloys have thicker webbing and use tapered nuts.
The RS wheels are rarer (more expensive), but you might get lucky and find a single one for a sensible price!

Toyota oe alloy wheel nuts are a good replacement for the original rs flat washer nuts, pretty much identical in washer and shoulder dimensions.
The taper fit ones are just standard ford items, they're still used on current fords and should be easy enough to find replacements.
With the wheels, you'll need to match the part number to make sure your offset and width match, as there are several different proper rs alloys.
In addition, if you've got the mk1 rs1800 ones(H71AB 1007 AC), the capri jps ones are identical except for a different centre bore.(H71AB 1007
AC-C)
There are also some 'ats' copies, which are thinner than the laser spokes but still fit with taper nuts.
