Cortina hub reamer top balljoint
Hi all. I am rebuilding a barn find locost and the front hubs need the top balljoint section reaming. Could anyone tell me what reamer I need or show
me one for sale some where please. I have searched on here but the links I found no longer seem to work. Thanks

I don't remember that cortina uprights needed reaming. I thought that was the bottom of Sierra uprights.

Never heard of Cortina uprights having to be reamed either, suspect you have the wrong top joints? Think you need early Transit drag link joints but
there should be loads of info on here

IIRC the Ford Sierra front uprights needed the lower taper reaming to accept the Maxi ball joint (I know MK did this on mine for my MK Indy build).
I don't remember Cortins uprights having to be reamed.
Different joints required perhaps?

Ah, maybe I have misunderstood. My problem is the hub and balljoint work fine together untill I add the wingstay. Then there is not enough thread on
the balljoint left for the nylon of the nyloc nut to grip onto. I will try and add some photos later.

We're talking bottom ball joint then, right? Is the wing stay made from particularly thick metal? I take mine off all year to avoid them
breaking, and just refit them for the mot.

Understand your issue now if it's not enough thread showing through.
IIRC you can get thinner nylon lock nuts - i.e. ones that need fewer threads.
I can't point you to a supplier though I'm afraid.

I may be wrong but the wing stays on cortina hubs us to bolt in a different position to on a sierra hub the sierra stay used the bottom ball joint
