XR4x4 or scorpio
New guy researching MK build.
I have been offered the front and rear
discs/calipers etc from both the Scorpio
and the Xr4x4 and was wondering which
would be the best bet?
The Scorpio stuff is 5 stud .... will this lead to
any problems with wheel selection?
Thanks in adv.

Hello there...
I'd go for the 4x4 as you get a nice 7" LSD diff. The Scorpio may have an LSD but it may not, and if it does it's a big heavy
7.5". Plus you keep the common ford 4-stud wheel fitment. 5x108 is much less common, although you may be able to fit 5x110 wheels with wobble
bolts on the scorp stuff.
Only downside with the 4x4 stuff is you'll need to get hold of some 2wd front uprights from another source.

Oh you're just after the brakes. Duur. Dont really know. Scorp calipers are bigger i think.

Go for scorp - everytime!
But then getting the pleasure of driving a scorp everyday I would say that...
You're better off with the sierra stuff as Liam says - easier wheel selection - dont think scorps are 5x108 though, thats the newest shape
mondeos - scorps are 5x112 .
Neither the sierra or granada have anything special to offer brake wise - im running granada calipers which run slightly larger piston diameter than
most sierras but to be honest I dont think its gonna make much difference - as far as I can tell - the only difference of note is the Sierra Cosworth
calipers which are 4 pot opposing and look rather nice - probably a bit too much for a seven though...?
Go for Sierra! Or the lovely cortina stuff on ebay at the minute for a very reasonable price and which are nothing to do with me - honest!!! Really!!!
