tyre size

what do you peeps think is the best tyre size on the 7 type cars, im running 205-50-15 all round. im wondering why the likes of cateringvan use 205 on the rear and 185-60-13 on the front. will i find better handling with 185 on the fronts?????? ta

couldnt say for sure, but putting narrower tyres on the front should increase understeer and hence reduce over steer.

i think more significant is the 13" rims, ISTR that the taller sidewall helps generate more heat for grip as it wobbles.

could all be BS though!

As the weight distribution is slightly tail heavy 185 fr 205 rear works out just right for the same tyre loading -- makes going into snap oversteer less likely. They will both fit 6 inch rims, the narrower front tyre on a wide rim should give good steering response.

On the Europa JPS Twincam Lotus fitted 175/70 front 185/70 rear on 5.5x13 rims for similar reasons.
