It shouldn't be able to pull out really, if the circlips are fitted!

I know that the circlips aren't supposed to be under load as such, but if both the CV's are at the outer limits of their travel then the shaft may be able to drop out between them.

More information might help - like what kind of shafts are they, how much they 'pull out', photos even...

If you have push in shafts - they don't lock in or anything, just sit there nicely.
Is the shock fitted?
'Cause I'm sure if you push the shaft up, it will pop out if nothing is stopping it going beyond "normal" use.
Is everything bolted together eg, rear bones and rear upright as these all hold the shaft in position.
Pat...

Yeah - definately sounds like the springing on your shaft is dodgy.

I thought all 7" diff sierras had lobro shafts with 6 bolt flanges. Surely all the pull-out shaft ones are 6.5" diffs!!!

Huh?? All the sierra diffs are 7" (apart from cossie of course). Oh and 4x4 front diffs are 6.5". Maybe there was a really early 6.5 or something, but us locosters are all using 7s, either push-in or flanged - the diffs are identical.

Really can'twork out mr fulton's problem. Detailed photos might help.

Lift the rear suspension up and down

Are you moving the suspension through the same amount as the shocker would allow? Any more, and it might just pop out...

Dont just build it.....make it!
