DOHC MT75 - V6 COLOGNE
In progress of converting my V6 XR4x4 motor to RWD use..I've purchased a capri sump and what appears to be a DOHC sierra MT75 Box.. Any advice
on mounting the box to the block..i.e.adaptor plate??? who?? where?? how much?? I have put a few inquiries out on the net but thought I would post
here too..
I know type 9 would have been easier but it won't take the power...

one option is...
you take 1 DOHC 2dw mt75. take the front section off leaving the end section and the inners.
take 1 4x4 mt75 gearbox and do the same, but hold on to the front section this time.
with the two remaining, bolt them together.
this is the ROUGH idea on how to make it happen. you would have to take it to a gear box specialist though, so they can also swal the input shafts
over ( v6 are longer ).
failing that, Caprisport can make you a box in the same way.

I dont get it...
If your having your V6 4x4 box converted to RWD it'll just bolt on as it did before. You'll be using the front of your V6 box with
correct length input shaft and bellhousing, etc, and the rear of the DOHC box to make it 2WD.

Get the box done by a pro. The bearings need to be preloaded not a diy job. Mine is costing £75 To get the XR4x4 front fitted to a Dohc rear.

Hi,
Does anyone know what bearing is adjusted to give the correct preload? is it the main shaft or layshaft, or both? Also, any idea what's
involved? I don't believe "not a DIY job" is part of Locoster vocabulary
Cheers,
Terry
