old post about Banjos

Been reading this old post and was worried when i got to the third thread down...

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=25342

it talks about proving to the SVA man that the caliper inleet holes are not tappered.

does this still cause a problem?

My SVA tester insisted that I prove that the hole in the caliper was not tapered.
Original sierra hoses are not taper fit so I either had to disconnect them at the SVA station (and then re-bleed the brakes ) or take photos at home.
I also took the old sierra flexi ends with me.
Some sierra calipers are not machined around the hole (especially the rears) but need to be to get a good seal.
Fronts were OK but I just carefully filed the rears.

I will put some photos in my archive

WTF was all that about???

Car/Light vehicles brake equipment has Europe-wide standardised inlet port form, using M10 x 1 parallel thread.
As an SVA tester, he shoulalready know this - shouldn't he??

NB - Older Eastern-bloc sourced cars e.g. Lada, had brakes which used M10 x 1.25 threads. Typical!!

Work-in-Progress: Changed to Zetec + T9. Still trying!!
