4x4 steering column
I have a Sierra 4x4 as a donor for my Luego and have realised that the steering column looks different to the standard Sierra column at the bottom.
Does anybody know if I can use the top section and just replace the bottom piece or do I need a complete unit from another car?
Cheers

Any pics?
IIRC, the complete column is the same and is either of the adjustable or non-adjustable type.

You just need the bottom section from a non power steering Sierra.
Assuming you are using a MK11 Escort rack.

By the bottom section, do you mean the bottom of the actual column (which is the traingular bit which comes out of the column) or the steering shaft
itself which is the piece/pieces (with the universal joints) that join the column to the rack?

You only need the UJs and connecting rods, (from the triangular section forward). The problem I had was that the spline pattern on the UJ that fits to
the rack was not compatable with the rack. A manual Sierra one is compatable.

Edit: I believe this is the case for all power steering Sierras.

The 4x4 has a big rubber shock absorber in the column just after the top UJ, presumably to damp vibrations from the driven front wheels. I've
kept mine (but I'm doing a 4WD) but you may want to get hold of a top UJ from a 2WD sierra. The column itself is the same as a 2WD sierra.
