Steering rack bushes
Please excuse me if this is a stupid question........ mine usually are 
Do you split the new rubber mounting bushes with a knife to fit them?
I cannot seem to get them into place over the projections on the steering rack.

I hope I understand you correctly here. I assume you are talking about the 2 rubbers that are around the rack under the fixing brackets.
Anyhoo, when I removed the old ones from my escort they were split at the back (the side that clamps to the chassis).
Hope this is clear enough for you
