Sorry, this is not a response to your question.. [ the last time I went fishing, the only thing I caught was my ear, while trying to cast..]
I was looking at the picture under your name, and also saw "Building: my own locost". The shape of your car looks less triangulated and
pointy than the book Locost - or is it just because the picture is small? I will be building my own chassis, and I intend to shape it more as
described above than the one in the book. Did you design yours, or just modify the book design, or am I deluded? Anyway, I'd be interested to
hear/see a bit about your design shape :]

Here's some tips for you:
Fat Frier - Portslade - great cod and chips
Blakes - Brighton - the best mushy peas and nice Haddock
My Plaice - Hove - excellent skate in black butter
As for lures and bait - I find a £5 note usually does the trick
That's all I know about fishing - hope it helps

quite enjoy a bit of beachcasting , but I'm not keen on fish!!! ,or playing about with 'orrible lug worms.
used to go with my partners son , so he could do the bait and fish bits......
have caught makerel off Seaford beach with those shiny bits of foil with hooks embedded, ( no 'orrble worms!!)
also pouting off of Seaford , Normans Bay but thats with worms.......
all ledgering no floats.......

Where about are you going? Sandeels (can be bought from tackle shops in a packets of five or something) are good for Bass/ Cod etc. and there's
plenty of Wrasse about. If you get cold and want to warm up a bit, feathering for makerel will keep you moving. Nine times out of ten once you hit a
shoal you could be pulling them out every cast for as long as fifteen minutes sometimes.
Take a few towels incase you have to unhook a dogfish (sandpaper like back that can rip the skin off your hand) or anything elsev nasty. Lashings of
hot milky coffee should keep morale up.
That's what i like about seafishing... you never know what you're going to pull out! Get some strong mainline on...a dolphin has been
spotted in Portland harbour a few Summers back and there's been even bigger stuff spotted off Chesil beach! Let us know how you get on mate.

Will be trying to catch stuff off of Brighton Marina wall, tried it a few years back and didn't get much apart from the usual mackerel, want to
move up a species or two !!
Russ, I've got me some crab bait, feathers and some squid and sand eel lures, know what sized hooks i should get for em, oh yeah, it's a
night trip as well

I've seen ragworm being used for night fishing on south coast on several ocasions, not sure as to the succes rate of them though.
If using ragworm, take care as they have pincers at one end and are not afraid to use them.

Mackerel is one of the best tasting fish I know - as long as you eat it fresh!
You need to fillet it, dip it in seasoned flour then gently fry it in butter.
Mmmmmmmmm

Must agree that Mackeral is one of the tastiest fish but my absolute favourite is fresh Stingray. Bloody delicious but not very common around the
uk!!!!!!!!!
