Roof
Has anyone put a perminant roof and doors on a locost? if so could we talk a bit because i'm planing on it but need a helping hand in some bits.

i think adding a fixed roof and doors goes completely against what a lotus7 should be, an open sports car. if you put a roof to your locost, i think
you will take away the charm and pleasure of riding like you do in a car like this
|

Why not a removable roof? A' la MG?

I'm sure I saw somewhere just recently that either Caterham or Westfield had developed a removable hardtop. Didn't look good in the
picture, though, hence the reason I can't remember which one it was.

Some guy in the Netherlands build a hardtop removable roof for his seven. It looks pretty good. I would like to do the same thing, and have been
trying to figure out a way to do it.
Best i could figure is to have a fiberglass removable roof, with some support beams on the inside to keep it rigid. Basically just a bubble over the
cockpit and boot. Then for the doors I was thinking about just making (again out of fiberglass) some removable doors that just bolt on to the
windscreen.
doonkevort also has a pretty decent looking hard top.

Defeats the object. Most of us , I'm assuming here, have perfectly good everyday cars with roofs, why build another one?
