Injection fuel pump?
What fuel pump can I use for my Vx fuel injection system? Does it go in the tank? (One for PTM pehaps?)

if it gives the right pressure (which is regulated at the injection manifold anyway) sierra and granada efi's have an external electric pump that
goes in the fuel line OUTSIDE the tank.
if you get one from a scrappy they look like death. however the rusty can around them is a bracket with a rubber inner cushion. throw that away and
whats under isnt too bad.
just make up a new soundproofed braket assembly.
the pump is right at the rear - on a granada - easy to see at the back near the valence.

Why not use the fuel pump that came from the same type of vehicle as the donor of the engine?
From my days of vx's, they had an electric pump bolted on the rear offside.
At least you can guarantee the fule line diameter will be correct both ends.

The Ford injection pumps (Bosch?) have a 15mm inlet but most injection pipe is 8mm. Anyone know where I can get some 15mm? I've asked a FoMoCo
dealer, but their crappy new electronic parts system is hopeless.

i have one out of a sierra if its any use it came out of the tank with the fuel level
i am changing to twin 40s and dont need it it was for a dohc 2ltr
its free

That caught me out too.
basically the pump has a high pressure output, but not a lotta 'suck' on the input. The pump needs a larger bore input to allow a decent 'gravity'
feed to it.
I got my pipe from www.farnell.com
but its a bit hidden in there.
A decent large motor factor might be able to help, as might a hydraulics supplies company.
make sure its petrol resistant, and it MIGHT need markijgs on it to prove its compliant.

The Ford pump uses non standard fittings on the output side, they seem to fit a banjo with a pre fitted plastic pipe. The Vauxhall out of tank one
fitted to loads of cars is easier as it has a standard 12mm i/p and 8mm push fit o/p. Just get 8mm rubber pipe and fit with a fuel pipe clip easy. The
only problem is these pumps have a hard life as they are running all the time the engine is going and clog up very easy. Always fit a pre and post
pump filter. I am on my second and may end up buying a new one for £100 for peace of mind. Also try and instal with a relay with either ECU control or
accident cut out switch, the last thing you need is the pump running if you have an accident.

All good points. A new filter like the one on the ford costs about 10 quid from halfords.
The original pipe from the pump to the filter can be used.
The output banjo - std or not fitted my 8mm injection pipe and was fixed with a fuel line clip.
An efi system runs the pump a few secs before starting to presure the system. The pump then stops running until it senses the engine firing.
Fitting an impact switch is easy. On the granada I think its accessable at the rear of the car not far from the pump.

Dave, is it an injection model? Which year? If its the right one I'll have it...
