Jonti,
I suspect Lee has a Sierra turbo diesel lying around that he wants to use. He has posted many questions relating to this car.
Lee,
I don't know how big your engine is but I imagine you'll struggle to fit it into a standard "book" chassis. The original locost design uses the
engine from a Mk1 / 2 Escort. The sierra and all its components are (relatively) big and heavy. I would suggest that if you're not too experienced at
this kind of thing perhaps you should consider using an old escort as a donor?
Cheers
JonB

Lee I am fitting a Pinto at the moment, the 1.8TD is slightly shorter, same length, slightly narrower, heavier (not by too much, uses the type9 (no
prblems there) and if you get a capri axle from a 2.0 (3.44:1) I think you would have a very quick, VERY economical little car!
Best of luck
Mark
PS, a mate at work has a Sierra 1.8TD, and I had a real good look, because I was considering it - I think it will go in OK with no more than the usual
problems
