rear disks for 13" rims

Struggling to find a solution to fit disks and calipers under 13" rear rims. I intended to use standard sierra disks with golf Mk4 calipers, but after a trial fit there's no way it will work. As a starting point i could do with disks with deeper bells, the sierra ones are 26mm from hub face to outside of disk. IIRC westfield use disks with deeper bells, possibly escort fronts, can anyone confirm this? and if so how deep they are.

Westfield use Sierra rear calipers and Mk3/4/5 Escort discs AFAIK, and you can definitely get 13" rims on a Westie.

Have a look here.

Lightweight, definite fit under 13" wheels, simple and cheap!

The calipers are 106, 206 and Saxo rears and come up on eBay on a regular basis. I can provide rough drawings for the brackets if you want.

...although they aren't quite so simple to fit if you have the book trailing arm mounts behind the main axle tube rather than on top (which I didnt notice in your pics at the time), because on mine the big box section mount is exactly where the caliper wants to be

A few mods to the bracket and they will just about squeeze in though, the caliper needs to sit totally upright to go behind the trailing arm link on one side rather than hang slightly underslung, and I need to mod the trailing arm mount on the side that has the panhard rod mounted onto it so the caliper sits under the panhard rod at the top, and clears the trailing arm mount at the bottom. Should all come together OK in the end though.

Oh I forgot to ask Wyn, what discs are they for future reference?

Sorry! I didn't realise you were having problems - I thought mine was built to the book (it was 750MC race car for three seasons so I assumed it would be spot on!)

I've enclosed a picture of the caliper bracket drawings but I'd check the measurements before making any thing - there may be variations in the diameter of the axle casing etc which may require a slight alteration.

I would caution against Peugeot calipers they have a long history of seized/sheared bleed nipples and siezed pistons.

As for the reputation of Peugeot calipers, as long as they are well cared for they shouldn't be a problem - especially on low mileage cars with enthusiasts as owners!

No probs Wyn, its all fixable and the mounts are probably not something that they stipluate to that degree.
I may just end up welding the brackets on so I can put them in a position so the caliper is vertical rather than slightly canted over as they sit if bolted in, but either way it will fit somehow

Are the discs Pug 206 too?

OK Chris - sorry for the hassle!

Discs are Fiesta - turned down on the inside edge to fit over the flange on the halfshafts - I thought this would be better than modifying the halfshafts which would mean I'd be stuck if I broke a halfshaft on an event and wanted to borrow a spare.
