Steeringwheel for SVA?
Hi all,
I'm looking for a nice little steering wheel that I can pass SVA with. I
currently have the Sierra (bus) wheel fitted, and it is very difficult to
get 5th gear because it is so wide!
Any suggestions? What is usually supplied in various kits? I believe you need a collapsible boss or something aswell? Oh and I could do with it
being
cheap, the credit cards taken a right hammering recently.
Thanks
Graham

Get it thru sva on the bus wheel then get a mountney steering wheel. i think you can get them from lolocast and like for £30. boss is and extra tenner
or something. or you could buy the mountney and then give it a plastic cover for sva

The 11" Mountney Wheel (£30) and boss (£15) is indeed sold by Lolocost. As its part of their current SubK and 2B (SVA Complient ?) kits, I
presume (perhaps wrongly) that the wheel and boss must be SVA complient too. I got the same thing from the Donnington Show for £30 inc boss though.

Big wheel
The bigger the better for SVA test ,due to all items behind wheel being exempt from scrutiny.

BUT, my hand hits the steering wheel when going for 5th gear with the standard Sierra wheel! Is this not a fail?
Thanks

the 11" mountney wheel fitted to sub K's and the 2b's will fail the SVA! i have been researching lots of things to give me more
knowledge and understanding about building kit cars and 'hoodies' tend to lather the steering wheel in silicone to make it SVA friendly.
also in one SVA report i read the guy was told by the SVA examiner his standard Sierra wheel was 'a bit on the large side and may be
unsafe' but still passed it then winked and told him that he could then fit and unsafe one.
Hope that helps
