Sierra Hubs??????
To the panel of Knowledge,
I am using the front Hubs off of a sierra and I was wondering what lower ball joints I can use as I don't want to use the track control arms
like the Avon Tiger does. Will the bottom swivels from a MKIII, IV, V Cortina or maxi do?
Cheers

Welshy,
Contact Luego - I'm using Sierra front uprights, with their wishbones.
They supplied me with the upright adaptors (which you'll also need) and the balljoints.
They should be able to help.

Hi Welshy,
Yes, if you get the bottom ball-joint hole on the hub bored out to fit the hub- it needs to be the correct taper as the standard one is too small. See
link for taper dimensions:
http://forum.locostbuilders.co.uk/xmb/viewthread.php?tid=3808
MK will bore the hub out for you on an exchange basis of £7 per side.
You probably know this but just in case: the wishbones need to be relatively different lengths compared to using the Cortina hubs.
HTH,
James

Cheers Lads for all the help.
I will contact MK if i can't some one to bore them out at work for me.
And James, I am going to work out how long the new front wishbones have to be. If you are using the Mcsorley 7+4+4 chassis can you please let me know
what dimensions you got, so i can check mine against them.

It's the arm between the chassis and the bottom of the hub. It comprises the bottom balljoint and the compliance bush for the anti-roll bar. It
gets called lots of different names, especially when the bushes need changing.
yours, Pete.

I went into the RSPCA office the other day. It was so small you could hardly swing a cat in there.

I've only seen them used on Robin Hoods old sliding pillar system front suspension, he probably meant them. Don't Avons use wishbones same
as "normal" locosts?.

Hi Wleshy,
I'm not using anyone else plans other than those of my good self! Which probably explains why it's taking so damn long!
Saying that though- my chassis is setup to be able to take standard sized wishbones if I want- that also gives me the option of buying MK ones if I
want though.
Cheers,
James
