mk2 escort rear brake adjusters
I had to fit rear brakes to the axle but could not get the cable onto the lever. To fix this I made up some adjusters.
Since then I found the 2 adjustment nuts for the cable after removing the tank this gave a bit more slack so I reduce the length of the extensions.
I then pondered for a long time as to why the cable was too short.
Anyinw, last satruday I thought I have a go fixing that. I couldn't get the cavble onb so removed the drum and fitted it.
Ofcourse that mend I could not get the drum abck on, WTF since I thought I had put the adjusters to the minimum position.
Anyways, I poked it with a scrtewdrive nt it moved, hmmm, maybe they are not at the minimum setting.
Up wne the rear end, off with the other durm and smack the adjusters with a piece of wood - this mover the other one.
Repeat smack to first adjsuter.
So in short, the adjusters were out slightly; a light tap with a piece of wood resets them.
I chekc brakes do not drag and no need for extensions!
