Rears: Bearing carrier to upright bolts: high tensile?

Hi.

I have loads of 4.8 bolts, so I was wondering if I could use them to bolt the disc adaptor plate / bearing carrier / upright or should just go and get some 8.8s?

Thanks,
Joao

Silly to go with anything other than 8.8s if you ask me!

Is it really worth the risk?!

Cheers,
James

8.8's would be what i'd reconmend. 4.4's for places that have no load, eg bolting gearbox extension level to gearbox.

Bolts

As said before use at least 8.8 and preferably bolts (that is a fastener with a smooth shank and not threaded all the way).

Also bear in mind that having 8.8 stamped on the head is no guarentee of quality........To be sure you need to buy the fasteners from a reputable manufacturer such as Unbrako, Allen, sorry cant think of any more.
