Cortina uprights caliper bolt.
Morning. One of my caliper mounting threads on my uprights has had the thread stripped at some point and a strange insert put in it which is a
smaller bolt that the others.
Would u:-
a - leave it with the smaller bolt
b - drill it and helicoil it to the right size
or
c - junk it and buy another upright for silly money,.

If you can get another upright I would go that route - failing that a helicoil insert will be fine.

Very true, but if a Helicoil is done properly it can be just as strong as the original thread. Probably worth a go and just keep an eye on it to make
sure everything stays tight.

Raz

Stronger in fact, depending on the material it is fitted into.

Dan , when you find out what thread you need let me know I have a few helicoil kits and may possibly have what you need . Pretty sure it's a
12mm thread but not sure of the pitch. Can check tomorrow to see which ones I have
