Rover/Ford Hybred
Must have been done before, marrying a Rover V8 +5 speed LT77(or is it R380) gearbox to Ford live axle (English).
Flanged at both ends, but what about the swing. Will it need some sort of spline to take up any length veriation?

Escort English axle won't like the torque of the V8 for long it will take for a while but sooner or later a halfshaft will snap, better to use
the Escort or Cortina or Capri Salsbury type, as for prop shaft look at the shafts used on the MGB, Midget, Marina. where the sliding bit is in the
shaft.

Many thanks Britishtrident, just the information I needed.
Not tooo worried about torque problem as it is only a road car and very unlikely to get servere hammering; but will investigate the spare axle that I
have - it looks bigger and beefier, just needs the welding mods.
Thanks for the shaft information, will start searching. If anybody has a suitable one available - beer tokens will be available.
Now just got to finalise chassis mods and we are up and away.

land Rover and Range Rover prop shafts have sliding spline and circlip retained Hardy Spicer joints. They are designed for the torque of a V-8 and are
usually pretty cheap second hand. The splined sections are longer than car type to allow axle articulation and they come in various lengths, try a
rear range Rover or 110 defender one for size
