I thought nitrons were the ones GTS cougar sell ?

and young James
Not to sure if MK are dealing GAZ now as i've seen a lot of the recent kits going out with other shocks.Still the same price though.

I chose the GAZ because they were the only ones to give a 3 year warranty, also lots of damper settings so you can run a bit soft on the way to the track and then stiffen it up a bit.

They're not, due to (according to the Gaz guys) 'a misunderstanding'. Yet to hear the story from MK on the subject.

Gaz are doing their shocks at the price paid by MK now - £275 instead of £300 for the set of four including VAT and delivery. Bargain if you ask me - just wish I'd held on (bought mine at Stoneleigh last year!) although it shows how long I've been trying to sort out my front wishbones.

you should have if you've ever been racing , in the paddock at a race or followed rallying.

Did anyone mention Bilsteins (if spelt correctly) or Koni's ?
Don't know about sizes but you can find most decent makes in the demon tweeks catalogues (use as a guide - prob. not the cheapest place...)

I know someone at quantum shock absorbers, race only I think, know someone who paid £4k for a set. not really in the locost spirit/budget i guess!

Currently thinking of going for Avo pro-race with spherical bearings (what's the point of using poly bushes on the suspension if your shock mounts are sloppy rubber?). Nice adjustment and come in nice small sizes for my inboard design.

Only found em at Merlin motorsports, but if MK are dealing with Avo i might give him a call - hmmmm.

My GTS Cougar shocks are Nitrons rebranded.

MK and GAZ have fallen out i believe which may give you a reason not to buy them.

Remember to compare on spec as well as price. Are adjusters important to yu etc, and what about reliability/longevity etc..

Kind regards,

Darren

I have gone a different way round it , i have made my own from mini front shocks
and had a threaded tube turned up (by a mate ) to mount on a coilover, and so make them adjustable hieght, not tested yet so fingers crossed
this idea was seen on the locost club site but was for fixed hight shocks, it just seemed a better idea to make them adjustable!

Hi Roy,

Presumably question aimed at me?

I haven't bought yet. Gonna wait till Stoneleigh and see what's on offer there first.

Cheers,

James

Can you adjust the dampering on the nitrons ? so its stiffer for the track or a bit softer on yer bot on the M1.
