Brake balance bar and adjuster
Need some advice. The pedal box on my F27 is Mk2 Escort. Any ideas on where's the best place to buy a balance bar to fit?
Rally Des. look a tad expensive, Hi-spec look good but don't do an adjuster.
Am I correct in thinking that the bar needs to be adjustable from inside the car for SVA?
Any problems/pitfalls to watch out for?
Thanks, Pewe.

For SVA you are better leaving it off altogether ! If adjustable they will move to each end of the spectrum and try and make it fail.
If you have it for SVA then it must be fixed in one position, lock nuts are not sufficient I believe you need to drill and peg the adjuster so its
tamper proof.

Right, here we go again!
You can still have an adjustable bias providing that it cannot be adjusted beyond the worst case senario. That is the brakes must always lock on the
fronts first.
You can use 2 halve nuts as adjusters, but you must have another limiting nut that is drilled and roll-pinned.
To set up I jacked up my car and operated the brake while a mate turned the front/rear wheels. I moved the bias towards the rears until they locked
before the fronts then I backed the adjuster off a couple of turns until the fronts just bit.
This is where I set my lock/pin nut. I then wound the adjusters all the way to the fronts and locked the halve nuts.
A quick drive is all that is needed to prove both extremes.
Another stipulation is the bias cannot be adjusted by the driver in the seated position, so no cable adjusters allowed!
