Wheel studs slightly the wrong size...
I ordered some longer wheel studs from ralley design...
They arived and are the correct length, but the splined part which presses into the hub are 1.5mm too large.....I have tried to get one in but its not
going!
Do I send them back or drill out the holes in the hub a wee bit?

I would check that you have been sent the correct studs - give them a call to check.

i can understand why peoplewould want new studs but whats wrong with granada (or sierra??) studs, they're the perfect for tina uprights and
provide 10 turns of thread engagement. of course this is with my config and assuming you are using tina uprights too

I have the standard sierra rear hubs. I have removed the rear drums and fitted disks which has moved the wheels out a bit.
With the old studs I only get 4 turns....is this acceptable?

Are you really sure they are too large? They are famous for being buggers to get in - you ideally need a fly press, failing that a few washers and
spacers .... and a lot of leverage on a breaker bar usually does it.

I am pretty sure they are too large...
The old ones are a very tight fit...but somwething 1.5mm too big literally wont go into the hole unless I make it bigger!

Urgh...but if I gota use a press that means I have to get the damn hubs off
would there be anything wrong with just making the holes a bit bigger do you recon so I can pull the studs on with a nut and some elbow greece?

Are they new ally hubs? If so check the hole dia is right before considering opening up the holes. In theory you only need an interference fit just to
keep the studs from turning ...... in theory

Heh heh you have made a common mistake, whatever you do don;t press em in!!!!!!!!!
They are escort RS ones that you have bought, you need normal ford ones. The escort ones have bigger splines (for some strange reason the same size as
vauxhall splines!)
You bought part numer SS38, you need SS36
