Velocity drum handbrake cable issue

Anyone who has fitted Allegro cables to the aforementioned set up like to tell me if:

a. They had to reduce the length of the nipple on the drum end and
b. If they rmoved the insert in the backblate to allow the threaded bit to seat further in??

Ferg ,although mine is a locost I think it uses the same set up ? I used the allegro cables unmodified but at the handbrake lever end had to make an adjustable rod and compensator . Just used a length of 1" angle iron slightly longer than the distance apart of the top cable mountings on the chassis , drilled in the center of one side to fit the adjustor rod from lever and at each side to take the inner cable . Hope this helps

Hi Rusty,
Typically no sooner do I post a question, but it all falls neatly into place....

HOWEVER...
I now find that the cables are too short to reach the mountings on the chassis. I assume this is because the XT uses unmodified shafts at the rear.

Sounds like I'm going to have to launch a new thread...
