wheel calibration on real axle

i'm wondering...

how are you supposed to adjust toe-in and camber on the rear wheels if using a de-dion axle?
do you just dont?
i was thinking probably adding washers between the hub and the axle to do this.
i really dont think i got the rear wheels smack-on at the right settings.

Solid Axle Wheel Alignment

Bending the axle is one way, either a dirty great press or beads of weld on one side. If you weld on top of the axle the ends will bend up.

You could get clever with concentric rotating hubs on each end.

thats one way, but it is really unprecise. you cant even get a degree of accuracy let alone 1.4º toe in or whatever it may be...

IIRC live axles for example dont need toe-in or camber as they are unchangeable... but does this also apply to de-dion axles?

One way is to get the end plates machined to the settings you want. Or get some shims made up from plate machined in various degrees.
