hand brake and low level warning

After a member on here failed his SVa for the brake fluid low warning light not working on his Luego, I thought I would check mine.

I've found that mine only works when the engine is running the hand brake works the same.
Has anyone else had this problem and know how to sort it.

Thanks.

That is as it should be IMO - only with ignition switched on

did you mean only with the ignition on, or only with the engine running,

if it worked without the ignition on, would flatten your battery after a while surely??.

Sounds like your feed to the switch is from the wrong side of a relay or something like that.

you must have the supply to the switches connected to the cable from the alternator, needs to be a battery supply

Sounds like another wiring loom problem Martin.

I still have the problem along with a few other issues, like voltmeter stopping working when i turn on the lights and the car becoming ignition live when i pull the windscreen wiper lever towards me

The old Luego used 4 different loom suppliers and it seems none of them were the same. I hear Dean at the new Luego has had loads of calls about stuff like this.

What instruments or warning lights are you using. Sounds as if you might have swopped over the ignition live feed to the instruments/warning lights with the wire from the alternator to ignition light. As with all things electric check the dash earth.

Hello all.
all sorted now. It seems that the bright six warning lights were plugged into the wrong connections.
I think the battery was plugged into the hand brake light, hand brake plugged in to the Oil and oil to the battery.

8 Because there is a live feed and an earth.

Bright six because there are six warning lights

So

You got 3 lights wrong out of 6, must try harder. I wired one up to a Premier loom on my mate's Mac 1 with 20xe power actually.
